For the first time in close to a decade, Gloversville Elementary scholars were presented with the opportunity to participate in the PTA Reflections Program, a national tiered arts competition. This year’s theme is “Accepting Imperfection” and scholars could choose to submit works in any of these categories: Visual arts, Photography, Dance, Choreography, or Literature.
Our scholars had a chance to use not just their artistic skills, but their critical thinking skills to interpret what that theme means to them and translate it into a work of art. Boulevard Art Teacher, Mrs. Gutta, held after school workshops for scholars to work on their pieces. Finalists will be submitted to the Regional level.
On November 15th, GEPTA will hold a ceremony to recognize all participants and showcase their work to our community. We look forward to seeing what the scholars have created!
