Volunteering for an event is a low commitment way to get involved! Sign up for just an hour to help make these events possible.

Open Committee Positions
We are looking for volunteers for the committees below! If you are interested, please reach out via email to GESDPTA@gesdk12.org.

Audit Committee
Performs an annual audit on our accounts to keep us on track. Experience with financial records, accounting, or audits is helpful but not required. Responsibilities include:

Helping NYS PTA complete our audit

Reviewing financial documents of the PTA

Making recommendations to improve processes, accountability, and transparency

Fundraising Committee
Plays a crucial role in helping to raise money for PTA programs, events and services. This is great way to get involved with the PTA. Responsibilities include:

Helping to plan Fundraisers with the board

Promoting Fundraisers
-
Tracking Fundraiser progress and providing reports

Recruiting volunteers for distribution of items sold

Staff Appreciation Committee
Works to dream up a creative ways to show our appreciation to teachers, administrators and staff in our district who work tirelessly to help our scholars. Responsibilities include:

Planning appreciation efforts throughout the year

Compiling to-do and supply lists
-
Request donations for supplies/food from local businesses
-
Help recruit volunteers for Teacher Appreciation Week for set up/serve/tear down/etc.

Nominations Committee
Recruits and nominates the best-qualified candidate possible for each PTA officer position to be filled in the next election. Responsibilities include:

Identifying and recruiting talented, motivated, and responsible parents, teachers, and community members to serve as officers of the PTA in the following school year.

Selecting and presenting officer nominations for the next election (annually in May)
